GOAT - Vijay Thalapathy Movie Review English

We booked tickets with the high hopes that this movie would surpass the engaging quality of 'Leo.' However, upon watching it, we were disappointed to find it was equally underwhelming.

Spoiler Alert

The movie's use of deepfake and deaging technologies felt underutilized, the music lacked inspiration, and the comedy sequences were irritating. These shortcomings, however, pale in comparison to the poorly written screenplay.

The hero is depicted as a member of a Special Anti-Terrorism Squad, yet his character lacks the most basic common sense. Despite ignoring all logic, the hero fails miserably in every situation. He couldn't save his team members Naseer and Ajay, nor could he protect his friend's daughter or even care for a child entrusted to him. I haven't encountered such a poorly written protagonist in recent times.

This is where Vijay's 'Thuppakki' comes to mind. In that movie, he used a dog to capture a terrorist gang and fixed the Ruby Cube while locating a bomb, all without a single dialogue. It's a stark contrast to the lack of substance in this film."

Even the villain lacks any depth. Whenever he's cornered, he simply kills someone to escape. Honestly, can this be considered well-written?"

The unimaginative scenes are consistently tiresome. Many scenes are blatant references to other movies, leaving one wondering, 'What original content is there?'

The outdated templates, the wasted potential of actor Vijay, the illogical and impossible sequences, and the scenes blatantly copied from various sources like Insta Reels, Youtube Shorts, and English movies make this movie a complete mess. Had any other actor starred in this film instead of Vijay, it wouldn't be surprising if it became the most trolled movie after 'Indian 2.'
